Research Interests
Generally I am interested in nanoscience and nanotechnology, and their applications in a diversity of research problems in chemistry, medicine, biology, and materials science. My research interests include:
- bioinspired materials and devices
- nanostructured materials and surfaces
- surface modifications and functionalisations
- electrochemical sensors and biosensors
- scanning probe microscopy (AFM and STM) characterisation of biomolecules and surfaces
Current Research Projects
- Bio-inspired materials for nanotechnological applications
- Nanostructured materials and surfaces
- Surface modification and functionalisation
Collaboration with other research groups
- Mechanism of protein misfolding in Alzheimer's disease
Previous Research Projects
- Functionalisation and surface assembly of carbon nanotubes
(with
J.J Gooding, UNSW and
J. G. Shapter, Flinders University)
- Enzyme biosensors using self-assembled monolayers on gold
(PhD project with
J.J Gooding, UNSW and
J. G. Shapter, Flinders University)
