ResearchThe Naracoorte Caves World Heritage Fossil Site preserves a continuous faunal sequence and associated climate proxies extending back some 500,000 yrs. It forms a template against which disparate faunal sequences scattered throughout the Mt.Lofty, Flinders Ranges and the Lake Eyre Basin can be compared. Current research is focussed on the fossil faunas from the buried channel sequences exposed in the cliffs along the Warburton River, Coopers Creek and the Kalakoopah to the east of Lake Eyre.
