Annabel Smith PhD Candidate Australian National University Co-supervising with Don Driscoll (ANU) and Mike Bull “Demography, dispersal and fire responses of three reptile species”
PhD candidate Flinders University Co-supervising with Mike Schwarz “Molecular phylogenetics of halictine bees: An insight into the genesis of Australian biodiversity” Current honours studentsAndrew Murphy In a collaborative project with Professor Stanley Fox of Oklahoma State University (http://zoology.okstate.edu/zoo_fclt/fox.htm). Andrew is investigating the relatedness of aggregations of Liolaemus leopardinus using microsatellite markers. These animals have levels of sociality and parental care which are unusual for lizards.
Aidin Langford Aidin is examining possible mechanisms for diversification in the arid zone. We are using sleepy lizards as our model species and looking for morphological changes in the face of geneflow across an ecological gradient. This project is in collaboration with Professor Steve Donnellan at the South Australian Museum.
