ResearchI am a molecular ecologist with research interests spanning a wide variety of organisms, research questions and evolutionary scales. I admit a tendency towards lizard based projects, but have strong links with Andy Lowe at the South Australian Herbarium so I’m involved in many plant based projects as well. As such, I collaborate with many people in the school of Biological Sciences, Adelaide University and the South Australian Museum. Primarily, I am interested in applying molecular genetic techniques to questions in ecology and evolution. These include investigations of the significance of genetic diversity using both neutral nuclear markers (microsatellites) and I’m planning to work on genes involved in mate choice and parasite resistance (Mhc). Increasingly I am also working on both conservation and parasite projects.
Marker development: I have skills in microsatellite development and have collaborated with a number of people in this role.
