ResearchBiotechnology & Genome StructureForensic DNA, FTA-DNA data-basing.- -Chromatin structure & pyknosis This group has cooperative arrangements in Australia with Flinders Technologies, the Forensic Centre in Adelaide, and with the Whatman company. This is a small lab of interests within the School of Biological sciences cell-biology/molecular/biotechnology section. It is interested in nucleic acid technology mainly directed towards exploring novel approaches to the processing of RNA and DNA; particularly from ultra small samples. This originated from forensic interests but is also being explored for its diagnostic applications. Programmed death and chromatin structure- This has been a theme of this laboratory since approximately 1973 and there is a slow but continuing commitment to this area . Biotechnology, forensic applications of biotechnology and FTA papers- An interest since the mid 1980's. This has been a major spin off area from the other work that has developed its own interest and momentum. Currently the main thrust is in the exploration of the realities involved in profiling very complex mixtures of degraded and trace nucleic acids. See publication list |
